Joint Integration SME

Position Overview
The Joint Integration SME provides surge expertise in cross-Service, CCMD, joint, and coalition integration. This role helps project teams determine whether a capability can work within real joint mission relationships, architectures, authorities, and operational processes.

Few capabilities operate within a single organization. This role examines cross-Service, CCMD, and coalition dependencies, authorities, and procedures. It helps the Assessments team identify where using a capability requires coordination beyond any one Service or command.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Joint Integration SME will:

• Assess joint mission dependencies, command relationships, cross-Service interfaces, data exchange, procedures, authorities, and integration friction.
• Identify gaps between Service-specific employment and broader joint or combined mission requirements.
• Support mission-thread development, REX/event planning, stakeholder coordination, and operational architecture review for joint integration questions.
• Identify non-materiel recommendations related to doctrine, procedures, training, governance, roles, and interoperability.
• Contribute SME findings directly to CARs, CONOPS, CONEMPs, TTPs, and transition recommendations.

Required Skills and Experience

• 10+ years of relevant experience in joint operations, CCMD/Joint Staff environments, cross-Service integration, coalition operations, interoperability, or joint doctrine.
• Strong understanding of how authorities, command relationships, procedures, and system interfaces affect mission execution.
• Ability to work across multiple stakeholder communities and turn their differences into actionable integration recommendations.
• Strong briefing and written communication skills.
