We’re seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at a stunning new restaurant in the heart of the Finger Lakes. This is a unique opportunity to play a key leadership role in a creative, locally driven kitchen, working directly alongside our Head Chef.
What You’ll Do:
Craft and execute seasonal dishes that celebrate local ingredients and reflect the region’s rich culinary heritage.
Partner with the Head Chef to design and evolve menus that pair seamlessly with offerings from local wineries, and adapt to both peak and off-season palettes.
Assist in managing food costs (COGS) to ensure profitability without compromising quality.
Help control labor costs and drive kitchen efficiency—especially during high-volume seasonal periods.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen that supports smooth daily operations.
Lead by example, supporting and mentoring kitchen staff while upholding the highest standards of consistency and performance.
What We’re Looking For:
Culinary training and 2+ years of professional kitchen experience required.
Solid understanding of kitchen management, food costing, and seasonal menu development.
Genuine passion for local, farm-driven ingredients and wine pairings.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing customer needs and seasonal demands.
