Media Operations Analyst (Media Operations Desk)

Job Description

Team PAC Group LLC is seeking a Mid-Level Media Operations Analyst to support the public affairs and media engagement efforts under a five-year contract at MacDill AFB. This role supports proactive media operations, leadership communications, and external engagement activities by developing media products, coordinating responses to press inquiries, and preparing senior leaders for interviews, briefings, and public-facing engagements.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer and communicator with experience supporting high-visibility public affairs operations in fast-paced environments. This position works closely with leadership, interagency partners, and media organizations to ensure messaging is accurate, timely, and aligned with strategic communication objectives.

 

Salary Range $70K-$80K

Positions: Two (2) Open positions

 

Requirements

Media Engagement & Content Development

  • Draft, research, and coordinate responses to media inquiries and Requests for Query (RTQs)
  • Develop press releases, official statements, talking points, and leadership communication products
  • Prepare briefing materials for senior leader engagements with domestic and international media
  • Support interview preparation and ensure messaging alignment across engagements

Public Affairs Coordination

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including DoD organizations, embassies, and media representatives
  • Support media embeds, press events, and high-visibility communication activities
  • Assist in planning and execution of media engagements and strategic communication initiatives

Crisis Communication Support

  • Develop rapid-response communication products during crises, contingencies, and emerging events
  • Support dissemination of approved public messaging and official statements
  • Assist in synchronizing public affairs responses across multiple organizations
  • Provide communication support during time-sensitive operational events and high-visibility incidents

Training & Leadership Support

  • Conduct media training and message preparation for senior leaders and designated spokespersons
  • Provide guidance on communication best practices and audience engagement
  • Support leadership outreach across multiple regions within the CENTCOM area of responsibility

Travel & Operational Support

  • Travel to the National Capital Region (NCR), and other locations as required
  • Provide on-site public affairs support during exercises, operations, and leadership engagements

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in public affairs, public relations, communications, or a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to write press releases, talking points, media responses, and executive-level communication materials
  • Experience engaging with senior leaders and media organizations
  • Proficiency in AP Style, Microsoft Office Suite, and SharePoint
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment
  • Background in the CENTCOM AOR and regional geopolitical environment.
  • Experience supporting Joint Operations Center, command center, watch floor, or operational coordination environments.
  • Experience supporting Public Affairs and Information Operations in operational military environments.
  • Knowledge of joint doctrine, including JP 3-61 (Public Affairs) and JP 3-13 (Information Operations).
  • Regional media analysis experience across traditional and social media.
  • Direct experience working with media personnel and supporting media engagement efforts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Experience working with the Pentagon Press Corps or international media
  • Military public affairs experience
JOC Operations & Operational Communication Support
  • Support public affairs activities connected to Joint Operations Center operations, exercises, contingencies, and emerging events
  • Monitor operational developments and assist in identifying potential public affairs implications
  • Help synchronize communication products with operational timelines, leadership priorities, and approved messaging
  • Support coordination between public affairs personnel, operations staff, and other mission partners during real-time operational activities
  • Assist with the preparation of updates, talking points, summaries, and communication materials for leadership and operational stakeholders

Security Clearance Requirement

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance; TS/SCI preferred based on mission requirements

Work Requirements

  • Ability to support surge operations and high-tempo mission requirements
  • Willingness to travel
