Junior Operational Systems Engineer/Joint Operations Systems Design Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Operational Systems Engineer / Joint Operations Systems Design Engineer to support the development of operational concepts, technical planning products, and high-level systems representations for joint and service-level missions. The ideal candidate will combine operational experience with technical systems knowledge to translate complex mission requirements into clear, actionable visual and engineering products.

 

Required Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience supporting joint and/or service-level technical operations.
• Prior experience as a Senior Enlisted Leader, Warrant Officer, Junior Officer, or Company Grade Officer.
• Technical background in communications, communications-electronics (Comm-E), information systems, or related mission-critical technical domains.
• Demonstrated experience developing technical planning products, system designs, operational graphics, and architecture diagrams.
• Working knowledge of High-Level Operational Concept Graphics and Operational View-1 (OV-1) development.
• Ability to analyze operational concepts and convert mission requirements into concise visual, technical, and engineering representations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across operational, technical, and engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with systems modeling and architecture tools, including Cameo Systems Modeler and Cameo Enterprise Architect.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, Microsoft PowerPoint, and other technical visualization tools.
• Familiarity with systems engineering methodologies, architecture frameworks, and operational mission design in joint environments.
• Experience supporting mission engineering, capability development, or operational analysis activities.
