Position Overview:

Our team is seeking a highly qualified Interventional Radiology Technologist to deliver advanced imaging services to our nation’s Veterans. This role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of operating in a sterile environment, assisting with a wide range of interventional procedures, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and imaging quality.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate single and bi-plane interventional radiology equipment and contrast injectors.
  • Prepare and maintain sterile procedure rooms, including setup of trays, instruments, and supplies.
  • Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic interventional radiology procedures.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media under physician supervision (oral, enema, IV).
  • Perform imaging workflow tasks including PACS transmission, archiving, post-processing, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in CPRS and Radiology VistA systems.
  • Ensure compliance with VA policies, HIPAA regulations, and Joint Commission standards.
  • Collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team to support positive patient outcomes.
  • Be available for flexible scheduling, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and 12-hour shifts.
  • Participate in on-call rotations with a required 30-minute response time, when applicable.

Minimum Qualifications:
Certifications:

  • Advanced ARRT Certification in Interventional Radiology – Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – Required

Licensure:

  • Valid California State License in Radiologic Technology and Fluoroscopy – Required

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time, recent experience (within the past 3 years) in Interventional Radiology.
  • Strong working knowledge of PACS, CPRS, and other radiology imaging systems.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage complex clinical situations without supervision.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Green Card holder.

Required Documentation for Submission:

  • Updated resume (all gaps in employment must be explained)
  • Current ARRT (IR) certification
  • Valid California Radiologic Technologist license
  • BLS certification
