Compensation: $30–$35 per hour, based on experience, plus performance-based bonuses

Team PAC Group is looking for an experienced Drywall & Plaster Repair Estimator / Field Technician to support residential and light commercial repair projects, including upscale homes and office spaces. Our work ranges from small patch repairs to larger multi-area restoration jobs.

This is a working estimator role, ideal for a skilled professional who can assess project scope and costs on-site while also performing high-quality drywall and plaster repair work in the field.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimating & Client Communication
  • Visit job sites to evaluate drywall and plaster repair needs
  • Assess project scope and accurately estimate labor, materials, and timelines
  • Recommend the best repair methods, including patching, replacement, skim coating, reinforcement, and insulation
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and professional estimates
  • Communicate repair plans, schedules, and expectations with homeowners and clients
  • Identify related service opportunities such as painting, trim, insulation, or additional repair work

Field Work & Repairs

  • Perform drywall and plaster repairs, including:
  • Wall and ceiling patching
  • Water-damaged area restoration
  • Crack, hole, and surface repair
  • Drywall replacement and installation
  • Install or replace insulation, trim, and baseboards as needed
  • Complete light framing for small repair areas
  • Install specialty materials, such as beadboard, when required
  • Match existing paint or apply paint to repaired areas as needed
  • Work independently or with a small team to complete jobs efficiently and to the company standards

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of hands-on drywall and plaster repair experience
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction methods
  • Proven ability to estimate labor and material needs accurately
  • Experience with:
  • Drywall hanging and finishing
  • Plaster repair techniques
  • Trim and baseboard installation
  • Painting and paint matching
  • Ability to identify project challenges before work begins
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Professional communication and customer service skills

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have own tools for drywall and plaster repair work
  • Reliable transportation to job sites
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Legally authorized to work
  • Ability to lift materials, work on ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Dependable, punctual, and strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of estimating experience
  • Experience working in older homes or with specialty finishes
  • Background in high-end residential or detail-focused repair work
  • Work Environment
  • Combination of estimating, field work, and team collaboration
  • Primarily residential job sites in the Fairfield County area
  • Projects range from small repairs to multi-room restoration jobs
  • Must be organized, professional, and adaptable to varying scopes of work
