Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned, highly experienced healthcare professional to serve as Director of Program Operations. This executive-level role offers a unique opportunity to oversee critical government healthcare contracts, drive operational excellence, and lead a high-performing team. This is an exceptional, well-compensated role for a strategic leader with proven expertise in Medicare, federal healthcare program oversight, and large-scale healthcare operations.
Key Responsibilities:
As Director of Program Operations, you will:
- Lead the overall management and performance of government healthcare contracts.
- Ensure staffing aligns with program requirements and supports operational excellence.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with internal teams, external stakeholders, and government partners.
- Oversee contract compliance, including quality, cost control, timeliness, and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Implement and enforce robust quality assurance processes and risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor program performance through timely, accurate monthly status and cost reports, addressing variances proactively.
- Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of all contract deliverables and ad hoc requests.
- Maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders, including federal healthcare program representatives, partner organizations, and internal teams.
- Must be open to travel to the Washington, DC area, once per quarter.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Must have 8 years of professional experience in healthcare insurance, including Medicare, Medicaid, or related private insurance.
- Must have Medicare Advantage (Part C) Program experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing operations involving large volumes of protected health information and medical records.
- Knowledge of federal healthcare program operations and regulatory requirements.
- Proven government contract management experience.
- Management experience:
- 5+ years with a master’s degree, or
- 7+ years with an accredited bachelor’s degree.
- Prior experience with companies such as United Health, Humana, or similar government contractors is strongly preferred.
- Must be a USA citizen and reside in the continental US.
Education:
- Master’s degree (preferred) or bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Degrees in healthcare, public policy, or business are preferred.
