Position: Anesthesiologist (Board Certified/Board Eligible)

Position Type: Contractor, Full-Time (Six (6) positions)

Location: On-site, Hampton VA Medical Center (Hampton, VA)

Schedule: Daytime shifts + home call

Hourly Rate: $300.00 


Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology (ABA)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications
  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder
  • Recent clinical practice within the last 6 months

Responsibilities

  • Provide general and regional anesthesia for surgical procedures
  • Pre-anesthesia evaluation & post-anesthesia care
  • Maintain patient safety per ASA guidelines
  • Participate in on-call coverage, including home calls
  • Collaborate with surgical and nursing teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with VA policies
  • Uphold the VA mission to serve Veterans with excellence

Candidate Incentives / Transition Support

  • Candidates are encouraged to remain 12 months in the contracting role to support team stability and ensure a smooth transition.
  • In the event a candidate desires to transition to a government position, if a government position becomes available, PAC Group provides structured backfill support and guidance to facilitate a smooth move.
  • Working as a contractor may increase eligibility for future government opportunities.

Government Career Benefits / Incentives

Candidates who later transition into a government position at the VA Medical Center may be eligible for:

  • Step 5: placement within the federal pay scale
  • Federal service credit for prior military service, including up to 10 years for retirement calculations
