Starting Salary: $33.00/Hour

Job Summary:

PAC Group, LLC is looking for multiple detail-oriented Medical Records Intake Reviewer/Intake Records Management Coordinators (I-RMC) to join our team. The I-RMC will be responsible for reviewing submitted medical records to ensure compliance with specific criteria and administrative standards, submitting records from selected organizations to both government and commercial clients. The role involves working with protected health information and requires strict confidentiality. The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in office equipment and computer software, exercise sound professional judgment, and be able to work independently. This position is remote, with flexible scheduling for consultants working up to 40 hours per week.


Responsibilities:

  • Analyze protected health information according to project-specific rules and guidelines set by CMS.
  • Participate in the Submission Review process of the medical record intake.
  • Perform administrative intake procedures on submitted medical records.
  • Address discrepancies related to the project with Team Lead(s).
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of coding rules, guidelines, and changes as defined by the AMA.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the team.
  • The Intake Reviewer Coders will do the majority of the Intake and some coding.
  • The Intake Reviewer Coders will be involved from intake through abstraction.
  • Intake Reviewer Coders with education of Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) will ensure proper coding that is aligned to general industry practices.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience with computer systems and related software.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to correspond effectively with team members, clients, and customers.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise professional judgment in daily tasks.

Licenses/Certification

All coders should have experience in abstracting ICD-9/ICD-10 (blended HCC model) coding and have one or more of the following certifications to apply:

  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
  • CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
  • CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist – Physician Based)

Additionally, candidates may have:

  • Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC)
  • Certified Outpatient Coder (COC)
  • Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC)
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC): Note: (CPC-A designation cannot apply)
