Position Summary

The contractor shall provide Board Certified or Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician services onsite in accordance with American College of Emergency Physicians Guidelines (ACEP) for beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Columbia VA Health Care System (CVAHCS). Physicians will deliver 24/7 emergency care, including nights, weekends, and holidays, ensuring timely and high-quality patient care.

Work Schedule

  • Emergency Medicine Physician shifts include:
    • 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
    • 9:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
    • 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.
    • 8:00 p.m. – 8:30 a.m.
  • Coverage required 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site emergency medicine services in accordance with ACEP standards
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting to the Emergency Department
  • Ensure timely, high-quality, and safe patient care
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation per VA policies
  • Participate in emergency department quality improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary medical staff
  • Adhere to all VA clinical, operational, and safety standards

Required Qualifications

Licensure

  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia
  • Physicians with restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily surrendered, or denied licenses are not eligible

Board Certification

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine

Credentialing and Privileging

  • Must complete credentialing and privileging per VHA Directive 1100.20 and 1100.21
  • No services may be provided before approval by the Facility Medical Executive Board and Medical Center Director

DEA Certification

  • Current DEA certificate required

Conflict of Interest

  • Must disclose all past, present, or planned financial, contractual, or organizational conflicts per VAAR 852.209-70

Citizenship Requirement

  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder)
  • Must comply with all Immigration and Nationality Act, E-Verify, and federal regulations related to non-immigrant foreign nationals

Salary

  • Hourly Rate: $497.13/hr
